Fazia um tempão que não gravava um set Afro. Agora em SP o Afrobeat respira forte. Bixiga 70, Criolo, Burro Morto e mais uma galera vem ganhando destaque por adicionar esse tempero.
Por muito tempo DJs como Ramiro Z (Radiola Urbana), MZK, Vini Tchuna e eu (vide flyer acima Frankafrica 2006) forçamos o repertório pro lado africano. Para fazer com que o público se habituasse ao estilo. O ritmo é um pouco diferente, mas era questão de tempo que o brasileiro iria reconhecer o legado do Fela Kuti.
Enfim, bom que tudo isso está rolando. Mais uma vez a diversidade musical tem seu espaço e quem ganha com isso é o público.
Sobre o set. Uma mistura. Novos nomes. Velhos nomes. Outros estilos africanos além do Afrobeat. E uma pitada de artistas brazucas. Espero que goste. Boa audição.
It´s been a quite long time i didn´t record any Afro set. Now in Sao Paulo the “afro thang” is big. Public and critic love it. Bixiga 70, Criolo, Burro Morto and other artists has been calling attention for add this sauce on their music.
But long time before this brazilian DJs as Ramiro Z (Radiola Urbana), MZK, Vini Tchuna and myself (Frankafrica flyer above from 2006) had been pushing the Afrobeat on dancefloors to make the public get used to it. The rhythm is quite different, but evebody knows is was just a question of time to the Fela legacy get the brazilian crowd.
Anway, its great that this is happening. The diversity of music has been expanding in the nightclubs. And this is really great for the public.
Well, about the set. New names. Old names. Others african styles besides Afrobeat. And a touch of brazilian artists. Hope you like it. Enjoy it !
